What Are the Menu Options in the ClickFree App?

When you open the ClickFree app, you’ll see a variety of options on the home screen. Each one is designed to help you back up, manage, or enhance your files in different ways. Here’s a quick rundown of what each menu item does:

Backup Everything

The Backup Everything button is the fastest and easiest way to save all of your important content in one go — no need to select files manually.

With just one tap, ClickFree will automatically scan your phone or tablet for:

  • All photos in your gallery or camera roll

  • All videos stored on your device

  • Your entire contact list

Everything is then backed up to your ClickFree device — safely and securely.

 How It Works:

  1. Tap the large green “Backup Everything – TAP HERE” button on the main screen.

  2. The app will begin scanning your device.

  3. You’ll see a progress screen showing how many files are being backed up and which file types are included.

  4. Once complete, a summary will appear confirming what was successfully saved.

No internet required! This feature works entirely offline, since all files are transferred directly to your ClickFree drive.

 Why Use This Option?

Choose Backup Everything if:

  • You want to quickly back up your entire device with minimal effort.

  • You’re not sure which files are already saved — ClickFree won’t duplicate files, but it will check for any new or changed items.

  • You’re preparing to upgrade or reset your phone and want to keep everything backed up first.

Tip: If your device screen goes dark or the connection is interrupted, the app may need to reverify files. This doesn’t mean it’s starting from scratch — ClickFree is just making sure nothing gets missed.

Photos and Videos

The Photos and Videos option gives you more control over what gets backed up. Instead of saving everything automatically, this feature allows you to manually choose specific photos and videos from your device that you want to back up to your ClickFree drive.

This is ideal if:

  • You only want to back up recent photos or videos

  • You’re managing storage and prefer to exclude certain files

  • You’ve already used “Backup Everything” and just want to add a few new files

 How It Works:

  1. Tap “Photos and Videos” from the home screen of the ClickFree app.

  2. Your device's photo and video library will load — this may take a moment depending on how many files you have.

  3. Browse through your folders or timeline view to find the files you want to back up.

  4. Tap to select individual files — selected items will be highlighted or checked.

  5. When you’re ready, tap “Back Up” to begin transferring your selected files to the ClickFree drive.

  6. Once complete, a confirmation screen will appear showing how many files were successfully backed up.

💡 Tip: ClickFree automatically skips files that were already backed up previously, so you won’t end up with duplicates.

Backup Contacts

The Backup Contacts feature lets you create a secure copy of your entire phone’s contact list and save it directly to your ClickFree device. This ensures you’ll still have access to all your phone numbers, names, and saved info — even if your phone is lost, damaged, or replaced.

This option is especially useful if:

  • You’re switching to a new phone

  • Your phone is acting up and you want to protect your contacts

  • You simply want peace of mind knowing your contact list is safely backed up

 How It Works:

  1. Tap “Backup Contacts” from the ClickFree app home screen.

  2. If this is your first time, the app will ask for permission to access your contacts.

    • Tap “Allow” to proceed — this step is required for the app to read and save your contact list.

  3. ClickFree will begin backing up your contact entries. This usually takes just a few seconds.

  4. Once finished, you’ll see a confirmation that the backup is complete.

The contacts file is stored as a VCF (vCard) file on your ClickFree drive — a universal format that can easily be restored or imported to other devices.

Scan Photo

The Scan Photos feature lets you preserve your most cherished memories by turning printed or existing digital photos into high-quality digital backups — all directly within the ClickFree app.

It’s perfect for:

  • Digitizing old photo albums

  • Saving childhood photos, family portraits, or travel prints

  • Improving and archiving older, faded photos

 How It Works:

  1. Tap "Scan Photos" from the home screen of the ClickFree app.

  2. Choose your scan method:

    • Camera: Use your phone’s camera to take a photo of a printed image (like one in a physical album or frame).

    • Gallery: Select an existing photo from your phone’s photo library to scan and enhance.

  3. Adjust or Crop the Image if needed (you can straighten it or zoom in).

  4. Enhance the Scan (optional):

    • The app may offer auto-enhancement or basic editing tools to improve clarity or color.

  5. Save the Scanned Photo directly to your ClickFree device or your phone’s storage — your choice.

✅ Tip: Scanning through ClickFree is a great way to protect fragile prints from loss or damage, while also organizing them digitally alongside your modern photos.

Camera Roll

The Camera Roll feature allows you to take new photos or record videos directly from inside the ClickFree app. Instead of saving them to your phone’s internal storage — which can quickly fill up — the files are immediately saved to your ClickFree device.

This is especially helpful if:

  • Your phone is low on storage space

  • You want to keep personal moments backed up instantly

  • You prefer organizing media directly on an external drive

 How It Works:

  1. Tap Camera Roll from the ClickFree app’s main menu.

  2. Choose Photo or Video mode.

  3. Capture your moment as you normally would.

  4. The media file will be automatically saved to your ClickFree drive — no extra steps needed.

✅ Tip: You can view or manage these saved files anytime by tapping View Backup Storage in the app.

 

View Backup Storage

The View Backup Storage option allows you to browse the files that are already saved to your ClickFree device. This includes all the photos, videos, and contacts you’ve backed up so far.

It’s a quick and easy way to:

  • Confirm your files were backed up

  • Check which items are already saved

  • Preview or delete backups if needed

  • Restore specific files back to your device

 How It Works:

  1. From the ClickFree app home screen, tap “View Backup Storage.”

  2. You’ll see a categorized list of all the file types stored on your ClickFree drive:

    • Photos

    • Videos

    • Contacts

    • Other files (if applicable)

  3. Tap a category to view individual files.

  4. From here, you can:

    • Preview files (like opening photos or videos to view them)

    • Delete any unwanted backups to free up space

    • Restore selected files back to your phone or tablet

Tip: If you’re unsure whether something has been backed up, this section lets you double-check — no guessing needed.

Note: Deleting files from your ClickFree drive does not affect the original files on your phone.

AI Photos

ClickFree includes AI-powered tools that let you enhance or restore photos. You can find these tools in the bottom menu bar.
