If the Clickfree app is not responding, keeps asking for permissions, or the USB icon stays RED, your iPhone may be running low on storage space.
When an iPhone is nearly full on storage, apps may slow down, freeze, or stop responding properly — including the Clickfree app.
In many cases, freeing up some space and reopening the app can help resolve the issue.
How to Check iPhone Storage
Step 1: Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap General
Scroll down and tap:
General
Step 3: Tap iPhone Storage
Tap:
iPhone Storage
Your iPhone may take a few seconds to load the storage information.
Once loaded, you’ll typically see:
- How much storage is being used
- How much free space is available
- What is taking up the most space (Photos, Apps, Messages, etc.)
Ways to Free Up Space on iPhone
Delete Unwanted Photos or Videos
Photos and videos are often the largest storage users on iPhones.
To remove them:
- Open the Photos app
- Delete photos or videos you no longer need
- Open the Recently Deleted folder
- Permanently remove the deleted items
Deleted photos and videos still use storage space until removed from the Recently Deleted folder.
Offload Unused Apps (Recommended)
iPhone includes a feature called Offload App, which removes the app itself while keeping your personal app data saved.
This can help free up storage without fully deleting the app.
To offload apps:
- Open Settings
- Tap General
- Tap iPhone Storage
- Select an app you do not use often
Tap Offload App
Review Large Messages and Attachments
Old text message attachments, videos, and photos can also take up a large amount of storage space.
To review them:
- Open Settings
- Tap General
- Tap iPhone Storage
- Tap Messages
You may see sections for:
- Large Attachments
- Videos
- Photos
- Conversations using large amounts of space
Try Clickfree Again
After freeing up some storage space:
- Fully close the Clickfree app
- Open the app again
- Reconnect your Clickfree device
- Try the backup again
If the issue was caused by limited storage space, the app may become responsive again and the USB icon may turn GREEN.
