If your Clickfree device is not being detected on your iPhone or iPad, your Apple device may be blocking external accessories from connecting.
Apple recently changed these settings in newer versions of iOS, so the steps may look slightly different depending on your device software version.
This guide will walk you through both methods.
Before You Start
Please make sure:
- Your iPhone or iPad is powered on and unlocked
- Your Clickfree device is fully inserted into the charging port
- You are using the correct Clickfree connector for your device
- Your iPhone/iPad is updated to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS
For iOS 26 and Newer
Apple updated the USB accessory settings in newer versions of iOS and iPadOS.
Enable Wired Accessories
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Privacy & Security
- Scroll down and tap Wired Accessories
- Set the option to Always Allow
This allows your iPhone or iPad to properly recognize connected devices like Clickfree.

For Older iOS Versions
If you do not see the Wired Accessories option, follow these steps instead:
Enable USB Accessories
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Face ID & Passcode
(or Touch ID & Passcode on some devices) - Enter your device passcode if prompted
- Scroll down to Allow Access When Locked
- Turn USB Accessories ON
When enabled:
- The switch will appear green
- Your device will allow external accessories like Clickfree to connect properly
Reconnect Your Clickfree Device
After updating the setting:
- Disconnect the Clickfree device
- Wait about 5 seconds
- Plug it back in firmly
- Open the Clickfree app again
Your device should now be recognized.
If Your Clickfree Still Isn’t Detected
Try these additional troubleshooting steps:
Restart Your iPhone or iPad
A quick restart can refresh the USB connection.
Check the Connection
Make sure:
- The connector is fully inserted
- Your phone case is not blocking the connection
- There is no dust or debris inside the charging port
Keep Your Device Unlocked
Some Apple devices require the screen to remain unlocked during the initial connection.
Update the Clickfree App
Make sure you are running the latest version of the Clickfree app from the App Store.
Update iOS/iPadOS
Apple occasionally updates accessory permissions and USB behavior through software updates.
To check for updates:
- Open Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Software Update
Install any available updates and try connecting again.
