If you’re using Clickfree on an Android device to back up your photos, videos, or contacts, you’ll need to allow certain app permissions for it to work properly. This easy step-by-step guide shows you how to enable Clickfree app permissions on Android, so your backups run smoothly without interruptions.
Step 1: Connect Your Clickfree Device
- Plug your Clickfree drive into your Android phone using the correct connector (USB-C or Micro USB).
- You’ll see the Clickfree app open automatically, or you may need to tap to open it manually.
- Once your Clickfree device is plugged in, look at the top-right corner of the app screen.
- You should see a small USB icon.
- When the drive is properly connected, this icon will turn green. That’s your confirmation that the app recognizes the Clickfree and is ready to back up.
Step 2: Tap “Backup Everything”
- On the main screen of the Clickfree Legacy AI app, tap the big blue button that says “TAP HERE” to start the backup process.
Step 3: Allow App Permissions
- You’ll now see a few pop-up messages asking for permission.
- Tap “Allow” when prompted:
- To access your Flash Drive
- To send notifications
- To access Photos and Videos (tap Allow all)
- To access your Contacts
✅ These permissions are necessary so Clickfree can find and save your content.
Step 4: Tap Again if Needed
- If you denied a permission earlier, tap the big blue “TAP HERE” button again — the app will re-prompt you.
Choose Allow for each permission so the backup can continue properly.
Step 5: Watch Your Backup Progress
- Once permissions are accepted, Clickfree will begin saving your files.
- You’ll see a progress bar showing how many photos/videos are being backed up.
That’s it! Once it hits 100%, your content is safely saved to the Clickfree device.
Need Help Re-Enabling a Permission You Blocked?
If you hit “Don’t allow” by mistake, you can fix it:
- Open your phone’s Settings
- Tap Apps > See all apps
- Tap Clickfree Legacy AI
- Tap Permissions
- Tap each item (like Photos or Contacts), and choose Allow
