If you’re using Clickfree with your Android phone or tablet, it’s important to understand which connector type you need to connect the device properly.
What Types of Connectors Do Android Phones Use?
Most Android devices today use one of these two charging ports:
USB-C
Found on newer phones (2017 and later), including Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola, etc.
Small, oval-shaped port that works no matter which way you plug it in.
Micro-USB
Found on older Android phones (pre-2017), budget models, or small devices.
Narrow, rectangular port with one slightly wider side — you have to plug it in the right way.
How Do I Know Which Connector I Have?
Here’s how you can check:
Look at your charging cable or phone’s charging port.
Compare it to this:
USB-C: Oval, symmetrical, slightly larger than Micro-USB
Micro-USB: Small, rectangular, one side slightly wider
How Does Clickfree Connect to Android?
The Clickfree device comes with:
A USB-C connector
A Micro-USB connector
Both USB-C & Micro USB pluge directly into your phone.
⚠ Important: Clickfree Ultra Micro USB is built into the USB A connector.
What If My Phone Still Doesn’t Detect Clickfree?
If you’ve connected it but nothing happens:
Make sure your phone has OTG (On-The-Go) enabled — this allows external devices like Clickfree to connect.
Give the app file permissions when prompted (for photos, videos, contacts, etc.).
Check that your phone case isn’t blocking the connector.
Try restarting the phone and reconnecting.
