Whether you're using Windows 8, 10, or 11, your Clickfree device is fully compatible and easy to use. Below is a step-by-step guide for launching the Clickfree app, including tips for enabling AutoPlay and troubleshooting if the app doesn’t open automatically.
Compatible Systems
Clickfree works with:
Windows 11
Windows 10
Windows 8
⚠️ Windows 10 and 11 often have AutoPlay turned off by default, so you may need to open the app manually the first time.
Step 1: Plug In Clickfree
Plug your Clickfree device into any available USB port on your PC.
Wait a few seconds while the system recognizes the drive.
If AutoPlay is enabled, a popup may appear asking what you want to do with the drive. Choose: 👉 "Open folder to view files", then proceed to Step 2 below.
Step 2: Enable or Disable AutoPlay (Optional)
Want Clickfree to launch automatically every time you plug it in?
Here’s how to turn on AutoPlay in Windows:
For Windows 10 & 11:
Open Settings (press Windows key + I).
Click Bluetooth & devices (Windows 11) or Devices (Windows 10).
Select AutoPlay from the sidebar.
Turn ON the toggle for "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices."
For “Removable drive,” select "Ask me every time" or "Open folder to view files."
Step 3: Launch the Clickfree App
If Clickfree doesn't launch automatically, do this:
Open File Explorer (yellow folder icon on your taskbar).
Look for the Clickfree drive under This PC — it might be labeled as D:, E:, F:, etc.
Double-click the drive to open it.
Look for a file named Clickfree.exe with the Clickfree logo.
Double-click that file to launch the Clickfree desktop app.
📝 If you don’t see the Clickfree file, make sure the drive is fully connected and recognized in File Explorer. Try unplugging and replugging the device if needed.
What If Nothing Happens When Plugged In?
Here’s what to try:
Open File Explorer manually and look under This PC to see if the Clickfree drive shows up.
If the drive doesn’t appear, try a different USB port.
Legacy Systems (XP, Vista – No Longer Supported)
While some older systems like Windows XP or Vista may still recognize Clickfree, they are no longer officially supported and may not run the app correctly. Proceed at your own risk.
