(For Beginners – All Drive Sizes)
If you're getting messages like “Drive Corrupted” or “Unsupported Format” when using Clickfree, it likely means the drive needs to be formatted.
This can happen if:
Clickfree was unplugged without “safely removing” it
A file became corrupted during backup
The format changed and is no longer recognized
Formatting the drive will erase everything on it and reset it to a clean, usable state.
⚠️ Before You Begin
Formatting permanently deletes everything on the drive.
If you have anything important on your Clickfree, save a copy to your computer first.
Option 1: Format Using File Explorer
(No download needed – works for drives 32GB or smaller)
Steps:
Plug your Clickfree into your computer
Open File Explorer (the folder icon on your taskbar)
Find and right-click your Clickfree drive (e.g. E:\ or F:)
Click Format
-
In the Format window:
File System: Choose
FAT32Volume Label: Type
CLICKFREECheck the box for Quick Format
Click Start, then OK on the warning message
💡 If your drive is larger than 32GB, you won’t see the FAT32 option — use Option 2 instead.
Option 2: Format Using FAT32Format Tool
(Best for all drive sizes — especially 64GB and up)
If you have a larger Clickfree drive or don’t see the FAT32 option, this tool is the easiest fix.
1. Download the Tool
The file will be called guiformat-raab.exe.
2. Open the File
Find the file in your Downloads folder
Double-click it
Click Yes if Windows asks for permission
3. Format Your Clickfree
In the FAT32Format window:
Drive: Choose your Clickfree drive letter (like E:\ or F:)
Volume Label: Type
CLICKFREEQuick Format: Make sure it’s checked ✅
Leave other settings as-is
Click Start
Click OK to confirm
Wait for the message that says “Done”
That’s it! Your Clickfree is now formatted.
Option 3: Use Windows Disk Management
(Built-in tool – best for tech-savvy users)
This is another built-in way to format a drive, but it's a little more advanced.
Steps:
Plug in your Clickfree
Right-click the Start menu and choose Disk Management
Find the Clickfree drive in the list (be careful not to pick your main hard drive!)
Right-click the drive and select Format
-
Set:
File System:
FAT32(if available)Volume Label:
CLICKFREEQuick Format: ✅ checked
Click OK
⚠️ If your drive is over 32GB, FAT32 might not be listed — if so, use Option 2.
Why FAT32?
Clickfree requires the FAT32 file format to work properly with the mobile app and backup tools.
Other formats like NTFS or exFAT won’t work.
